Jomsom to Muktinath

Morning Jomsom. The clear blue sky can be normally misleading. Many travellers are stranded here at the airport.

Jomsom under Sky.

Muddy hills everywhere you look. That was the first thing we saw out of the window on waking up.

Black "Kali Gandaki" never left us since we started our journey from Beni.

Greenery under the dry hills on the way to Muktinath.

The zig-zag looking patterns on the mid-right is actually the walking trail to the Stupa at the top.

The structural beauty.

Life of bus drivers in the hills of Nepal

The bus drivers roaming around the corners of Nepal is not easy, especially during rainy season. No wonder there are so many accidents throughout the year. We made one such trip to Beni, almost 12 hours ride from Kathmandu. In the early morning, we saw what is the daily routine of some people - drive, clear rocks, drive....

The first point on the way to Beni where water obstructed the road. There are lots of such cuts on the way.

Finally the bus made through. It was chilling to see the stone eroded under the wheels.

Now this took lots of time. Wide cut.

The bus staff had the right tools to deal with such environment.

I wonder what happened to that micro-van behind. It must have little clearance to move through the hill of rocks
